I realized today that I now know quite a few Smarty-Pants Women (SPWs) who are committed to pursuing higher education outside of the “traditional college years” window.
Beth McDonald: Back at UCLA this fall to earn her Masters of Library and Information Science.
Rhonda Wade: Just earned her BA in Women’s Studies while working full-time at UCLA.
Laura Macchia Amescua: Back at UCLA to earn her Doctorate in Education while working at UCLA full-time.
Kim Swennen: One of my CS classmates. Already had a BA in Drama from Yale. Back at UCLA for her Computer Science Masters.
Aimee Graham: Was just accepted by USC Film School so she can earn her BA in TV & Film.
I hope to get some Guest Posts from these women so you can read about how they got where they are.
(BTW, Laura and Rhonda were a BIG help to me when I needed to get answers about applying as a non-traditional freshman to UCLA. I’m very grateful to them.)
